First steps in a Circle completed...

Well here we are at the end of another year, I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday, and stays safe tonight while they are celebrating the new year.  I will be at work...

Anyways  I got one more set of pics for 2013, I managed to finish the first batch of Circle models this morning.  I ended up having to varnish these.  I don't know what was going on but these models chipped like no ones business.  I used brush on varnish, one coat of gloss followed by a matte coat.  I dont really care for it, it dulls the colors and there are still spots on some models that are glossy, but I am moving on for now.  Oh, and yes I know there is a bit of frosting on some of the mannikins, I may go back and fix em later, its not as noticeable in hand.

Marking the Arcs

I decided to paint the base edge stone and mark the front arcs in black

Shifting stones

Second unit, all my duplicate and triplicate will have skulls on the back of the base from SCW.
Duplicates will have one skull, Triplicates will have two skulls.
I will use some GW transfers to mark skulls on the cards.

another shot

Close up (Ohhh exciting)

Wold Guardian rebased and with marked arcs

and another

 Rear Mannikins

A shot of both units

Well thats it I like how the stones turned out, I still like the basing, but I am not to impressed with my skin tones and the mannikins.  But they will work for now.   I am going start on the next batch on thurs.  Probably some smaller wolds and a warlock or blackclad, we will see.

First steps assembled...

I finished the assembly on my first batch of Circle models.  As soon as the glue sets up for a bit, I will take them out and prime them.  Maybe I will be able to get some paint down tomorrow,  we will have to see...

Just a quick update....

Just a quick update before I head out the door to work, ah the joys of weekend 12 hour shifts....

I did actually get almost everything I wanted assembled this past week done.  I got a little frustrated with the wold watchers so I will try and finish those up Monday.  Instead of pinning those I think I am just gonna use the greenstuff and super glue trick.

Anyways pics,

I also got the last few things i want for this batch in,

(although I seem to be missing some mannikins...)
(oh well missing parts already submitted)

That should be everything I need for all of the theme lists I am interested in, though I may look at a couple of the furry warbeasts and possibly skinwalkers before I call this complete.

And I am trying to decide on either a second Fulcrum or a second Woldwrath.... any opinions

First steps in a Circle...

Just a quick update.  I got started on my Hordes Circle of Orboros list.   Not much so far, just setting the first batch of models out for assembly and paint.  I also went ahead and magnetize the bases for this group.  I decided to use water effects to hold the magnets in, mainly because I did not have any 2 part epoxy resin.

I also got a few things to build a arc marking widget, just need some small masking tape for the front arc.  I think I have a idea for the markings.  I will paint the rear arc and forward marks just like the stone on the model, with the rest of the base black.

I am using this for a guide HCO Arc Marking Widget

Wold Guardian Test model

A few minutes ago I finished my test model for a Hordes Circle list.   I had this color scheme floating around my head for the past several months and final came across some inspiration for the base, so I decided to try it out.

I think it turned out fairly well, I was going for a autumn/fall theme.   I think I really do like that base, enough to keep you looking, but not to busy to detract from the model.   Well this may end up being a full army,
esp since I already have the models

Some older stuff...

Its been awhile since I have had time to post some stuff. I have not been working on the Necrons like I have wanted to. Between work and being a bit burned out on them I have just been kinda staring at them the past few weeks. So I am going to clear them off the desk and work on stomething else for awhile.  In the mean time I have realized I got some pics of some older stuff I can post up.

These are pics of the last tournament army I finished.

Dwarfs:  Defence of the East Gate.
(these were taken before I refined my macro pic skills, so bear with them)

(Damn that blue background is bad, I will have to retake those eventually)
So thats my dwarfs.  I like them, I might just have to break them out again and get some games in.  I do have a few more units I can paint up....

I do need to decide on a new tournament army for 2014, I would like to hit a few tournaments.  But I cant seem to settle on a army much less a list.
