A chaos Troll tester....

Well instead of working on the bases I decided to try out/Finish a idea I had been working on,

I got the original idea from here

Chaos Troll

So I really like this idea and pretty much copied it.  This is what I ended up with.
Ignore the round base, if I decide to work more of these I will replace with the standard square bases.

So what do ya'll think?

Sweet New Brushes...

Evening,

I was taking a break from the base work this afternoon and found a box I received earlier this month, put up and promptly forgot about with every thing that was going on.

I had been looking for new brushes to try out for a few months now.  I was going to pick up some Winston and Newton, but they are hard to come by at the moment.  I saw some good reviews of Rosemary & Co. brushes so I put a order in.

This is what I got

Very well packed, only one brush is a little splayed from the shipping.  Cant wait to try these out.

Later,

Long time no see....

Morning,

Been awhile since I have had time to post, I had some family issues come up.  Which we wont go into since this is a hobby blog...

So now I am staring at Bayou Battles coming up in less than 50 days.  This ain't enough time for me to get a new army ready.  So its back to my dwarfs.  I am in the process of re-basing them to update the look.  I will also probably add some new units, most likely a gyrocopter or six...

So I will start putting the paint to these today, maybe even get close to finished...

Late Monday night update...

Morning,

Just finished the assembly on the latest batch of circle.  And, I didn't even drill one hole in my fingers.

First Grove, no additional hangers

Second Grove, One of each

Third Grove, just three hanging skulls

Fourth Grove, just three hanging torsos

So just need to let the Green stuff dry and maybe sand a bit, then these are ready for priming and paint.  I drilled some holes in the branches and did the greenstuff/super glue trick, for the hangers.  Hopefully they stay fairly solid...

Gonna head to the Post office in the morning and pick up my brushes.  I got six models primed and waiting for paint, for a test scheme for a new WHFB army.  Which will be my next post, unless I just absolutely hate them...

Later,

Monday morning...

Morning,

So this is what I have been working on last Thurs night and this morning.

ooooh mess....;)

Just need to finish up the Limbs on the Gallows groves and greenstuff the gaps.  Then these will be ready for Priming.   I should have some new brushes coming in today, which since I will be sleeping when the USPS girl drives by, I  will have to go to the post office tomorrow and get....oh well

Still kinda stumped on how to tell the groves apart.  I have been using skulls on the rear of the bases to tell the duplicates apart.  But, since these are covered in skulls that wont work.  I have a idea, but I will have to see if it will work in practice.  And that reminds me I new to hit up GW and pick up some Blood for the Blood god.  I want to use this on the bases of the Groves and Wyrmwood and Cassius, not to soak but maybe a few small pools dripping from the skulls, etc, we will see.

And is it weird I really like the new GW paint set boxes...

Reminds me so much of the old white dwarfs back when I first got into this stuff.   I'm tempted to get these just to frame up the box artwork.  I wonder if I could find someone to do a set with a ogre painting the Golden demon in a similar style...hmmmmm...

Well I'm off to finish cleaning up the groves limbs and trying not to drill a hole in my hand...
